Core Function Continuously detect hydraulic pressure when drivers turn the steering wheel, feeding real-time pressure data to the steering ECU. The ECU adjusts the steering assist output based on pressure signals, providing light steering at low speed and stable heavy steering at high speed. Reduce engine idle load: lower the output flow of the power steering pump when steering pressure is low to save fuel consumption. Built-in self-diagnosis function detects pipeline leakage, abnormal pressure, open or short circuits, stores DTC fault codes and triggers dashboard fault warning. Prevent steering system overload and protect power steering pump, valve body and rubber pipeline from excessive pressure damage. 3. Working Principle The sensor adopts mature piezoresistive sensing technology: Power steering fluid pressure acts on the corrosion-resistant metal sensitive diaphragm and generates tiny elastic deformation. Integrated strain resistors on the diaphragm produce linear resistance changes corresponding to hydraulic pressure. Wheatstone bridge circuit converts resistance variations into standard 0–5V analog voltage signals. Internal signal conditioning and ADC chips filter temperature and vibration interference, output stable analog or digital signals to steering control unit. 4. Application Scope Vehicle Types Fuel passenger cars, SUVs, MPVs, light commercial vehicles equipped with hydraulic power steering or EPS hybrid hydraulic steering systems.
